ATTENTION: New Students for 2009/2010

Calvert is now accepting applications for

Open Enrollment and Kindergarten Enrollment

KINDERGARTEN ENROLLMENT:  Enrollment in Kindergarten for the 2009/2010 school year will begin on Monday, May 4, 2009.  Age qualifications for kindergarten – child must be 5 years old by December 2, 2009. 

Enrollment packets will be accepted in May or June and again when we open in August. 

OPEN ENROLLMENT:  Spaces for Open Enrollment have been allocated to Calvert.  The Open Enrollment applications will be available from Monday, May 4, 2009 through Monday, June 1, 2009.  Applications can be picked up at any LAUSD school and are also available online at www.lausd.net.  

Please bring a state issued birth certificate, passport, or baptismal certificate; proof of immunizations and address verification (gas bill, electric bill, rental or escrow papers).  Once the Open Enrollment period has ended, if we have more applications than we have spaces, a lottery will be held.  If we don't have more applications than spaces, everyone will be accepted.  No open enrollment applications will be accepted after June 1, 2009.

SCHOOL TOUR FOR PROSPECTIVE PARENTS:  School Tour will be held on Thursday, May 28th at 8:30am.  Please check in with the Administrative Office.

Volunteer Opportunities at the School

There is no better advice given to parents than to get involved in their children's school.  School involvement is rewarding on so many levels.  The biggest impact is the message you send to your children - that their experience at Calvert is really important to you!  Studies show that children of involved parents actually do better in school.  You don't have to take it on as a full time job to reap the benefits - just get involved in whatever way you can and everyone wins! 

Become a Room Parent, volunteer to help your child's teacher, volunteer for a school event, or come to a PTA meeting.  Please look for the volunteer sign-up sheets on Back to School Night (April 21), or contact your PTA at info@calvertpta.com
