Come on over to Calvert Street Elementary School
and help sparkle the campus!
With the assistance of Los Angeles Conservation Corp, we will be planting trees and shrubs to complete our perimeter garden. We need your help to transform this space into a lush garden for our kids and community! Bring your shovel, some gloves and a smile!
We will also be finishing up projects from our last sparkle day (murals and more circles on the fence!) and doing general garden clean-up as well as assembling more raised beds for our teachers.
We are looking for donations of bottled drinking water, potting soil, and vegetable and flower seeds (for our teachers' raised garden beds). Please let me know if you can donate any of these items.
If you are available to head a team for the day (painting, light construction, planting and hospitality for example) please let me know.
We will also be starting our Capital Campaign where an orange on our mural can be "purchased" by a member of the Calvert community for $50. You purchase is commemorated with your name - or the name of your student - painted on our Orange Grove mural at the front of the school. Your donation will go toward the completion of our pond and science garden, to the realization of an 8000 sq ft vegetable garden where bungalows used to stand, and to the care and maintenance of our green campus!

"Second Saturdays" at Calvert!
Join Calvert Green's family of volunteers on the second Saturday of each month from 8:00 - 10:00 as we improve and care for our gardens. We will water, clear, clean, plant, mulch, prune and anything else needed to make sure our gardens are at their best. This is also a great opportunity to meet you neighbors and help build our Calvert community! Bring your family, hat, gloves and other tools for personal use.

CALVERT BEAUTIFICATION
A sincere and heartfelt “Thank You!” goes out to all our Calvert neighbors, friends, parents, students and staff who continue helping us with our Calvert Green planting days!
We planted hundreds of shrubs and trees to beautify our campus. The Calvert Green project continues to grow. Continue to check the website and watch for flyers to learn how you can partner with us in this fantastic project.
